Australian School Holidays
Australia doesn't have one national school calendar — each state and territory sets its own term dates. Find your state below for term dates, holiday dates, a countdown and calendar downloads.

How Australian school holidays work
- Most states have four terms, with roughly two weeks of holidays between terms and about six weeks over summer.
- The holidays usually fall in autumn (around Easter), winter (late June–July), spring (late September–October) and summer (mid-December to late January or early February).
- Dates differ between states, so families moving or travelling interstate should check each state separately.
- The dates here are for government schools. Catholic and independent schools may differ by a few days.
