Discover Upcoming Holiday ActivitiesGood to know about NSW school holidays
- NSW public schools follow two calendars: Eastern Division and Western Division. Western Division schools (in the far west of the state) start Term 1 later and have a different summer break to manage the heat.
- The first days of Term 1 are usually staff development days, so students start a day or more after teachers.
- Catholic and independent schools set their own calendars and may differ from public school dates.
- Public holidays that fall during term (such as Anzac Day or a King's Birthday holiday) are days off school but are not counted as school holidays.
