What children will learn
- Locate famous natural and built landmarks in Australia and New Zealand
- Learn the states, territories, islands and capital cities
- Use an atlas or map to check facts
You'll need
- This page printed
- A pencil
- An atlas, map or reliable website to check answers
How to do it
- Read each question on the answer sheet and write your best guess — no peeking yet!
- Swap sheets with another player (or keep your own) and check every answer using an atlas or map.
- Mark each landmark on a blank map of Australia and New Zealand, or circle it in the atlas.
- Count your score, then choose one landmark to find out more about and share three interesting facts with the family.
Make it easier
Answer as a team with an adult, or turn the quiz into multiple choice by offering three options for each question.
Make it harder
Write five extra questions of your own about landmarks in your state, region or town — checking each fact in two places.
Parent tip: Answers: 1 Northern Territory · 2 Aoraki/Mount Cook · 3 Canberra · 4 Wellington · 5 Queensland · 6 Victoria · 7 Mount Kosciuszko · 8 Cook Strait · 9 Tasman Sea · 10 South Island.
